University Scholarships

The application period for the CLFP University Scholarship Program is now closed for the 2011-2012 academic year

The California League of Food Processors (CLFP) is a not-for-profit trade association serving as a legislative and regulatory advocate on behalf of the State’s fruit and vegetable processing industry. In addition, the association sponsors a variety of programs and services in support of our members and industry.

The CLFP University Scholarship program is open to students attending California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)-San Luis Obispo, California State University (CSU) Chico, California State University (CSU) Fresno, and University of California (UC) Davis students ONLY. Students must be undergraduates pursuing a 4-year degree in a food related or agriculture based major in order to qualify.

The CLFP University Scholarship is a result of our commitment to fostering the education of individuals interested in pursuing a career in the agriculture/food science industry. The funding of this program is made possible through the generous contributions from our processing members and industry friends. To that end, it is CLFP’s recommendation that these $2,000 awards be utilized for:

  • Students with a strong interest and intent to work in the California or U.S. food processing industry or an industry allied with U.S. food processors.
  • Students with a work history in the industry.
  • Students with a need for financial assistance.
  • Students who are U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents in the process of becoming U.S. citizens.

CLFP University Scholarships are awarded each year as outlined below:

  • 2 awards for $2,000 each to students attending Cal Poly SLO.
  • 2 awards for $2,000 each to students attending UC Davis.
  • 1 award for $2,000 to students attending CSU Chico.
  • 1 award for $2,000 to students attending CSU Fresno.
